Black Snows Glacier
This trek takes you to the Nieves Negras Glacier, an ancient ice massif stained by volcanic ash, giving it its unique, dark appearance. The trail traverses high mountain valleys, crosses streams, and traverses extensive scree slopes, revealing a landscape that seems otherworldly: tongues of black ice atop solid rock, turquoise meltwater lagoons, and the imposing presence of the Andes in its purest form. A challenging yet rewarding destination, reserved for those who want to go a step further and discover a little-explored side of the central Andes.
