Marmolejo Hill Expedition
Dare to reach the summit of Marmolejo Volcano, the southernmost 6,000-meter peak in the world at 6,108 meters, on a high-altitude expedition departing from the heart of the Cajón del Maipo. The route traverses remote valleys, active glaciers, and snow-covered slopes to reach a summit where the view stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the Argentine pampas. Day 1 | Santiago – Base Camp (3,700 m above sea level)
Departure from Santiago at 7:00 am towards Cajón del Maipo. At 10:00 am we begin the hike through the Valle de la Engorda until we reach Base Camp , after about 5 hours of approach.
Day 2 | Base Camp – Camp 1 (4,300 m above sea level)
Breakfast at 08:00 am and start of the ascent to Camp 1 , with an estimated hike of 4 hours.
Day 3 | Camp 1 – Camp 2 – Camp 1
Day of acclimatization and carrying between camps.
Day 4 | Camp 1 – Camp 2 (5,100 m above sea level)
After breakfast, a 5-hour ascent to Camp 2 , a strategic point prior to the summit attempt.
Day 5 | Camp 2 – Summit – Camp 2 (6,108 m)
The most anticipated day. Breakfast at 3:00 am and at 4:00 am we begin the ascent to the summit of Marmolejo , crossing the Marmolejo Glacier . It's approximately an 8-hour climb (depending on glacier and weather conditions). Return to Camp 2.
Day 6 | Camp 2 – Santiago
At 7:00 am we began the descent towards Cabrerío , a journey of approximately 5 hours. Return to Santiago.
